HISTORY

The Corcoran Lions Club was chartered in June of 1965. The Corcoran Lions Club has given back to our community in hopes of building a better, brighter future. Members have donated many, many hours to raise money to improve life for people in our local area and communities abroad. The Corcoran Lions are very proud of all their accomplishments, and will continue well into the future to raise money for people in need.  Currently, the Corcoran Lions Club is 33 members strong.

The Corcoran Lions Club sponsors many events at the Corcoran Lions Park. The Park is 30 acres in size and was purchased in September of 1983. The first event, the Tractor Pull,  was held in June of 1984. The Lions Club still sponsor a Tractor Pull and a Demolition Derby each year. Other organizations lease the park for other functions throughout the year including the Hamel Rodeo, Hennepin County Fair, and Spring/Fall Motor-Cross events. Check out the Calendar for a schedule of all the events to be held this year.

Since 1917 The Lions Club International has nearly 1.4 million Lions members (44,600 clubs) in 190 countries and geographic areas. For 85 years, Lions members all over the world are there to help and provide. The Corcoran Lions are very proud to be associated with such a prestigious organization.  The Lions mission has never wavered: "We Serve."

Lions Meetings are held the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Country Pizza Parlor in Corcoran. The Corcoran Lions Club is always looking for new members and volunteers to help at all these events held at the Lions Park.

Lions members and volunteers gather to help maintain the Corcoran Lions Park. Various activities range from fixing fence posts to changing light bulbs. These types of maintenance meetings occur at various times during the year. During the Spring, Summer, and fall months, the Lions Park is very busy with activity. Lions members and volunteers are very active in helping before, during and after each event.

Many hands make light work for all! If you would like to join the Corcoran Lions or have a special request, attending a Lions Meeting is the best way to get information.
